What is 4 Truths and a Lie?
Buy 4 Truths and a Lie tickets here.
We ask 5 storytellers to tell a 5-7 minute story from their lives based on a theme we’ve given them. However, one of the storytellers (known only to the host and themselves) is lying through their pretty little teeth. At the end of the show the audience takes a vote and we find out which person was fibbing.
5 Truths and a Lie (4 Truths progenitor) has been running in Los Angeles since November 2010. What started as a nice evening of storytelling in co-creators’ Audrey Kearns and Brian Bradley’s living room, soon became a sold out L.A. Storytelling event. Podcasts became available after each show and the 5 Truths and a Lie audience is now worldwide with over 100,000 downloads in 50 countries. Storytellers have included actors, writers, producers, friends, moms and dads. Some storytellers of note include Dan Harmon-Emmy Winner and creator of TV’s Community, Rob Delaney – comedian, Liz Feldman – writer on such shows as Ellen and 2 Broke Girls, Moth Storytelling Host Brian Finkelstein, Michael McDonald – comedian, director, writer and Stephanie Courtney – writer, actress, “Flo” from the Progressive television commercials.
